Snowed in...AGAIN!

You've probably all heard about the massive storm that hit the DC area... it's one for the record books. It dropped 24 inches in about 24 hours. About 200,000 people were without electricity today... luckily that wasn't us! Church is cancelled tomorrow for the second week in a row and the third time this winter!! This pic is taken from our window.
This is a busy intersection right outside our complex. The tractor and snowplow were working hard there for most of the day. Usually a busy intersection, there were only a few vehicles that crossed through it today, their tires spinning... (We entertained ourselves a lot of the day by just watching the happenings outside our front window)
Our parking lot. Our two vehicles are the ones on the bottom right
Our bedroom windows. Our bedroom is upstairs and the roof is right outside our windows. You can see the drifts right up against the glass...

Our 4-Runner
Our garbage cans and grill
And the results... 24 inches!
Finally it stopped about 4 pm today. Ben was a trooper shoveling the sidewalks.

Amazing! Thanks for the incredible photos, and I'm glad you're safe and warm. I saw on the news that some people in DC got into the mother of all snowball fights during the storm...too bad Congress couldn't solve their problems in such fashion. Take care everyone. Love, Mom

haha! I've got to find a video of those snowball fights. Maybe you guys should start a snowcone business out there and take advantage of all this providential snow. (This is Dave)

Actually, this lady in our ward came over to take the sacrament with us (her husband's not a member). She brought us some "snow ice cream" from the Redneck Cookbook. It was snow, vanilla, milk and sugar. Apparently, the rednecks put a bowl outside while it fills up with snow. Then, they mix in the rest of the ingredients and ouila, snow ice cream. Yeah, we chucked it.

That sounds especially delicious.
