Veteran's Day

We ventured out to Arlington National Cemetery for a wreath laying ceremony and speech to be given by Pres. Obama. We almost didn't go because it was freezing cold, raining, and it was right during Emily's nap time. But, then I read on the internet that it was going to take place in the amphitheater. I thought, "Sweet. Indoors." So, here's the "amphitheater." Yes, I am culturally retarded. I blame it on my upbringing in Price. We didn't have amphitheaters there. The Prez: We were pretty dang close. Close enough, as Ben said, "to drill him in the head with a football." Nice thing to say about your commander in chief, eh?

Emily has a face off with one of the guards
Flag at half-mast in honor of the Ft. Hood victims.
The Bidens and the first lady. Sweet pic, eh? They are singing "God Bless America." I don't know who's standing between them. Maybe Laura and Jenna? (j/k)
Emily was actually really disruptive during the speech (as I mentioned, it was during nap time). We had to take turns taking her out. At one point I was standing listening to Obama's speech and I heard this loud high-pitched squeal off yonder. It was Em. I'm sure it was audible for everyone else too. So, yeah, you could say Em disrupted the President's speech. No kisses for her!

pumpkins

Shea made this jackolantern for Natalie
Can you tell who this is? But of course, it is Mr. Spock. Later his ear feel off and he looked like a seriously deranged Van Gogh.

Natalie loves shopping carts!

Natalie sometimes still loves the real thing!
Katie and I bought Natalie a toy shopping cart due to her obsession with them at stores (and minor meltdowns when we'd have to leave stores...and the shopping carts).
She loves to push them! Here we are at the grocery store.
Here we are at a clothes store.

Natalie does her own hair.

So chic!!!!!!

Halloween Pictures

Natalie as Yoda. Katie as Princess Leia.
Natalie stole the show at the Ward Halloween Party.
She went up to each door with her stroller and Yoda doll. She happily took candy (and dinner rolls) and put them in her stroller.
Han Solo even made an appearance.

The long-awaited unveiling of Natalie rocking-out to the song "Supersonic Blackhole" by Muse.

iowa halloween game

Hey sorry we're so lame with posts and stuff. We went to the Iowa Indiana game which was a whole lot of fun. Thanks Mom! Life is good. The highlight of Halloween was the young man dressed as a prostitute whose friend was a pimp. I totally thought he was a girl until he said in a really deep voice, "I'm never wearing fishnets again." HA!

And we also thoroughly enjoyed watching USC get pummeled. And we are proud of all of our enormously cute nieces. Party on guys.
