Hey guys, this is Wendy. I finally dug my poor neglected camera out for our Super Bowl Party. Turns out it was a great idea, thanks to Katie and Natalie!

So Katie was kind enough to bring some yummy cheese appetizer things. Fortunately they came in a conventient plastic container. "All you need to do is bake at 350 for 10 minutes!" she claimed. So we plopped them in our easy-bake-size oven and let them cook away while we watched the game. After about 7 minutes I happened to peak in the oven and immediately yelled for Katie, while trying not to burst a gasket laughing, when I realized that the "convenient" plastic container had completely melted and the yummy cheese things were making their way to the oven floor. A few fortunate ones were fat enough to get stuck between the wire in the racks. We strategically manuevered them to a cookie sheet and decided they would still taste the same even if they weren't all in one piece. Most things do, right? Fortunately, nobody suffocated from the fumes of burnt plastic.
Natalie had herself a little Hitler mustache. It was actually much better before this picture was taken.
Classic Natalie pose. I swear she gets cuter and cuter every time I see her.

I finally revisited the blog...sorry for being so neglectful and thanks Wendy for sending in some updates...I hope the oven has recovered! Thanks to all of you for your birthday wishes and gifts...I am so lucky to have such great kids and kids-in-law, not to mention my adorable granddaughters. I had a good week in Jerome and got to spend a lot of time with Mom. She's doing okay and really loves it when you all call or send her a note...thanks for thinking of her. I was so happy that I got to see Kevin play (Jerome beat Twin), and that Katie, Shea, Natalie, Dave and Wendy could come up for the weekend...thanks so much. While I was gone, Dad spent one day with Joe and Bethany and helped them get things rearranged in anticipation of Lucy's arrival (March 8). I'm sure Joe is thinking he should be called "Joeb" lately with all of the complications after his surgery. He awoke with a searing pain in his thigh the other night and apparently he now has a torn hamstring in addition to blood clots and a healing ACL...I think he's following in the tradition set by Uncle Pat! What an ordeal for him. I think everyone else is doing okay...Steve finally started his school today, so we'll see how that goes. I have a suggestion that we post updates on the blog at least every Fast Sunday...what do you think? It would be a great way for us all to keep in touch. Take care of yourselves, and thanks again for the birthday stuff. When I got home on Tuesday, Dad picked me up from the airport and took me straight to this fabulous restaurant on the Plaza in KC...the food was fantastic. He also gave me the PBS version of Jane Eyre (he's getting in touch with his feminine side)and a bike...let's just hope I don't fall off of it and land on my chin. I love you all, CTR, and pray for Joe and for Brian...he takes the BAR exam on Monday. Love, Mom ( Brian and Megan have a golden retriever puppy named LaVell...the tradition of awesome pet names continues)!
Love the pictures...she totally looks like a Shaha and still reminds me of Joe. Wish we could have come to your Super Bowl party!!
