More Demotivators

Hello all, I wanted to honor Memorial with a military theme for this week's Demotivators but found that I didn't have enough military-themed material.  Despite that, I hope that all of you are doing well and would like to know if you enjoy this post and if so why so that I may better serve your demotivational needs in the future.

 The question now is, how does he get out of his cherry parking space.

And here's my contribution in the spirit of Memorial Day.

 This was one of natalie's favorite parts of the Salt Lake City Aviary

 This is Jack, continuing his quest to walk as a free man while we are on vacation at Capitol Reef National Park. It's right next to Salina Utah, near Brice Canyon.

 I don't know if you can see them, but there were lots of petroglyphs - those drawings on the rocks. Why the heck are there always so many animals?

 Some nice German lady took this for us without telling us that you can't really see Jack on Shea's back.

 This is the Mother's day present Jack made me at Day care. It says something about helping him grow into a butterfly. I think it is darling, but also king of hilarious.

I know it's belated but this is the card that Ben and Marinda sent me for my birthday. Isn't this picture classic?! I'm trying to think who it reminds me of.

Here's the Old Man's latest attempt at a blog post--some shots of the weekend spent in Phoenix for Karlie's wedding. And a very good time was had by all. Bob and Melanie were great hosts, and Mom's largesse made it possible for us all to stay in a very fancypants hotel near Bob's pad (with a pool and all that we did use in the 100 degree weather) with a very fancypants rental car that had a push button to start (what will those Japanese technicians think of next?!).

The babes below are very handsome as well--can't say the same for the two dudes, however! But we were all very happy to be there and just wish we could have had more of you there. Especially unfortunate Steve and Stacy were unable to come, but glad Steve is doing well.

Bob and Melanie did a fine job with the reception line, and Stephanie was a beautiful first lady--I mean chief assistant--or is it maid of honor. Whatever, she did GOOD and all the while carrying 7/9s of her soon-to-be-born son--Congratulations, Stephanie and Kevin!

The let the old geeks hang out at the far end of the reception area--keep them away from the food and drink, though any of you who know these people are aware it doesn't take much drink to get them loopy. Fortunately the photographer was unable to capture any of the dance antics from later in the evening.

A quick shot of a large part of the Bob and Melanie contingent. Notable members of the party include Melanie's 90-yr old mom in the RED DRESS! And Sam of trashcan band fame in the suspenders.

A good time was had by all and we wish Andrew and Karlie a long and happy marriage.

Hello all, sorry for the delay but it has been a bit of a readjustment being back at home and fitting the weekly demotivator posting into the schedule.  That having been said, here's the latest batch...bon apetit.

Hey fam! Sorry we've been such losers about the blog. I've been hiding behind my technological challenges. The pictures everyone has posted are awesome. I wish we could hang out more! Well, peace out and I hope you all enjoy our extremely overdue contribution.

 The walls of this fort were made from the cardboard packaging of a safety gate we bought. Natalie managed to destroy the gate about 3 weeks later.

 I thought this was funny. Natalie must have gotten into my old weight watchers stuff and crashed.

Steve Shaha's Excellent Adventure

Hello readers, I'm making this entry to give a report on my incredible experience today.  I took a detour on my way home from Fort Campbell to check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.  Needless to say, it was an awesome day of checking out great exhibits and seeing a bunch of cool stuff that is now indelibly imprinted on my brain.  I'm posting the photos that I took, you can't photograph most of the stuff in there but I still got some great shots.

The best thing I saw though, hands down, was a paper with the lyrics to The Clash's (my third-favorite band of all-time) "Tommy Gun" (my favorite song of theirs) handwritten by Joe Strummer...it was a spiritual experience.  Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures and I highly recommend a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland (consider it a required part of your cultural upbringing).  Until next time take care, keep the faith, and ROCK ON \m/

 Here's a shot of the front entrance to the building.  The Louvre's got nothing on THIS pyramid.

 For those of you wondering why the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland...this plaque should explain.

 I entered at the bottom level and this was the sight that greeted me.  This is the drum kit Alex Van Halen used during Van Halen's 1980 tour.  The bass drums have huge holes in the front (the only part that's there is the top portion displaying the Ludwig logo), and they're split into two portions connected by what appears to be the kind of tubing that leads from large HVAC units into the buildings they service.  Pretty cool.

 This is the banner from the legendary Rock Club CBGBs that used to be in New York City (those who claim that Punk originated in NYC credit this club as where Punk was born) and was the place every Eastern U.S. band aspired to play.

 Check out who was there to show me where to purchase my ticket.  All that would have made it better was if Jonesy and Bonzo had been there as well.

 My experience began in earnest in the Ahmet M. Ertegun (founder of Atlantic Records) Exhibition Hall.  The men on this wall are (from left to right) Buddy Holly, James Brown, and Little Richard.

 I saw this earlier in the day and didn't realize it was an exhibit.  This is Johnny Cash's tour bus.
