Some Catching Up From Utah - Latest Ramblings by Gramma & Grampa

Lucy's first day at her new school in North Carolina. Joe will continue to be the legal advisor to the BDE Comander of the 18th Field Artillery Brigade, under the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, NC. Gramma and Grampa got to go out and help J&B move into their new rental home which turned out to be in the most perfect spot they could have picked for all the activities that had to be accomplished. A great time was had by all! 

 
 

Nerf gun wars and scooter races in the cul de sac outside Joe's front door...the festivities began one evening after the girls were already in pajamas.

 

The girls have this battery powered Barbie car which Lucy can operate pretty well. After watching Hailey careen around the yard, Lucy said, "Hailey, Dad's never going to let you get a driver's license!" But Hailey was wonderful compared to Ryan...help me! No flower bed or person is safe when he's at the wheel.


Just so you know, these postings go back in time...we're posing by this lovely trash can outside of a mall in SLC during Joe and Bethany's brief visit in Utah. They drove the van up from California, then Dad and Joe drove it to NC while Bethany and I flew out with the kids...all of the logistics worked to perfection, and we met up in Fayetteville the day before the movers arrived and total chaos ensued.

Okay, back a few days to Brittany's wedding in Mesa as she and new husband Darian depart for their honeymoon.



The Stocktons and a few others...the girl with John is his girlfriend Genny whom we all really liked. John is working on his PhD in math at ASU, has returned to activity in the church, and met Genny at his singles ward. We're all hoping for an announcement one of these days!

our great friends the Estrellas for lunch. We hadn't seen them for
nearly 20 years, and we had such a great visit and laughed the entire
time as if we'd been hanging around together every day. Pat served
as Fred's XO when we were in Utah.
